Seven companies formed a group to share their know-how, their technologies and their competences, mainly in the sector of high-tech passive passive electronic components :
Eurofarad, founded in 1965, specialize in ceramic, plastic film and mica capacitors, filters, precision potentiometers, slip rings and precision mechanics.
Firadec, part of the Roussel-Uclaf group in the 1960's and then taken over by a management buy out in 1977, specialize in tantalum capacitors, both wet and solid.
Sic, founded in 1921, merged with Safco to become Sic-Safco in 1954, specialize in aluminium electrolytic capacitors.
Founded in 1998 and acquired in 2007 by the Group, Astema is specialized in components assembly and electronic sub-assemblies (assembly, testing, marking and packaging)
Microspire, founded in 1978 and acquired by the group in 2008, specialize in the design, marketing and production of small to medium quantities of high precision inductors and transformers for high-performance applications in high grade electronics.
The business was founded in 1952 in Chicago as Dearborn Electronics Laboratories, a capacitor manufacturer, specializing in film and paper capacitors. The company moved to Florida in 1959 and was purchased by Sprague Electronics in 1964. In 1992 a group of former managers purchased Sprague Electronics and the name changed to Dearborn Electronics. EXXELIA Group has acquired Dearborn Electronics in October 2011.
Temex Ceramics started its activities in 1971 in Pessac (outskirts of Bordeaux/France) with the manufacturing of trimmer capacitor, tuning elements and ceramic multilayer capacitors. Externally acquired ferrite and dielectric materials arrived in 1988 in Pessac. Despite its name, Temex-Ceramics, has been a fully independent Company since May 2005 (fully separated from Temex SA). Exxelia Group acquired Temex Ceramics in June 2012.
