Hall effect sensor
Hall effect sensors are contactless devices that may be digital or analog, depending on the subsequent electronic processing of the output, and that provide a variable output voltage, linearly proportional to displacement, rotational or linear motion.
The underlying principle of the Hall effect is the measurement of voltage variation (Vh) relative to variations in magnetic field (B) on a conductive foil to which a current (Io) is applied by moving a magnet (this is the measured displacement). For constant Ia, Vh is directly proportional to the variation of the magnetic field (B).
